Welcome!
This year marks the 5th year I have been teaching and my 4th with a contract in a large, suburban school district outside the city of Philadelphia. I feel extremely fortunate to be a teacher and to have the opportunity to educate and interact with young minds on a daily basis. With such sentiments, I also try to reach every single one of my students each day, and this is where taking Assistive Technology comes into play for me. I do have special education students in my classroom, but as a teacher who does not hold a special education certificate, I sometimes feel that I lack in knowing all of the tools that could benefit my learners. I am hoping that this course will enlighten me and teach me more about what I can do to reach all of my students.
This is also my first time blogging. I am excited to learn how to use this technology and to continue to be a "professional learner" as my title implies.
Part of the course will call upon students to read each others blogs, use our textbook, learn about UDL, and visit websites. I am looking forward to this journey and the chance to write about my experience here. I am hoping all who read this blog will also enjoy it and learn more about education and my travels through this course.
